Hi, I’m Kate,

a UX consultant specialising in design systems. I work with startups to bring more structure, clarity, and inclusivity to their design, without adding unnecessary complexity.

Some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned came from working inside large organisations — brands like Volkswagen, CUPRA, Škoda, Apple, Diageo, Currys, and the National Health Service (UK) — where design decisions often affect multiple teams, timelines, and platforms. I’ve worked in both agency and in-house environments, and I’ve seen how important it is to have clear foundations in place when things start to grow.

That’s why I now focus on helping startups find the right systems and methods to improve user experience in a way that also makes sense for the business. It’s not about fixing everything at once — it’s about identifying what matters most and making it easier to scale from there.

I’ve also seen how tricky and expensive it can be to rethink accessibility or design decisions too late. Strengthening the foundations early on helps avoid bigger issues later — and keeps teams focused on building thoughtful, inclusive experiences.

Outside of work

Gaming has been a long-time hobby — especially World of Warcraft, a game where players build characters, form communities, and take on complex challenges together in a massive fantasy world. I used to take it more seriously when I was younger, but I’ve always enjoyed the mix of collaboration, strategy, and figuring things out as a group.

And yes — I still catch myself thinking about player experience more often than I’d like to admit.

Let’s Talk
